Men’s New Balance MR790 A ultra lightweight trail racing shoe built low to the ground to maximize responsiveness. ACTEVA™ in midsole is superior light weight foam with exceptional durability. Made with DuPont™ EngageĀ®. 12% lighter than standard foam. NduranceĀ® in full length is rubber compound for maximum durability in high-wear areas. ROCK STOP™ shock distribution plate provides protection against rocks by minimizing pressure. Synthetic/mesh upper for lightweight and support. AT TREAD™ in outsole combines running and trail lug configuration designed for on- and off-road use.
Customer Review: MR790 Lightweight Trail Shoe
The MR790 is a very lightweight trail running shoe, comparable in weight to a street racing flat. For climbing, its light weight makes it a joy. The compromise, of course, is that it isn’t super supportive and the midsole is fairly thin. I replaced the thin, flimsy insoles with a set of Superfeet which provide a bit more support and protection, but don’t add a lot of weight. The tread on the bottom of the sole is not super aggressive, so you won’t be getting a huge amount of traction. Using careful footwork on technical downhills is advised. I used these shoes to pace an Angeles Crest 100 runner through the last 25 miles from Chantry Flat to the finish and was pretty satisfied. No blisters or aching feet at the end. - CW Journey
